Thanks to Gary for presenting, Jigsaw for finding yet another speaker who us mortals would never find in nature
& Mike for delivering the venue and moderation
Gary's recent book is ordered from Amazon @ Due Friday. I can't resist a little deeper look at what I heard in the presentation and reviews which trended towards "confrontational to the industry"
An End to the Bull: Cut Through the Noise to Develop a Sustainable Trading Career Hardcover – November 24, 2014 by Gary Norden
This was very insightful to hear from the ex market maker and try to get inside his head.
MM are a breed separate from the normal small risk takers. I find it amazing that they simply quote prices and make it all work. At the core they are scalpers but there is something more. I think of it as BIG PICTURE vision that I aspire to.
Good-day fellow traders. I am new to Big Mike's Trading Forum and this is my first post.
I bought Gary's kindle-book yesterday - and I have not put it down. In nearly six years of daily research and study of FX and following 20 years in stockbroking (on and off) it is by far the best that I have read.
Compliments, rather than my usual disdain, to wily-Wiley for publishing. Most of all, my admiration and respect to Mr Norden for writting with the courage of his convictions in a friendly and easy style. I am certain thta this will become essential, but easy and enjoyable, reading for novice and experienced traders alike.
One of the things I always wonder with that book is why Wiley published it in the first place because it's hardly kind on the contents of other books they publish.
Apparently there's a story behind it, which I must get off him at some point.
