I have found a gap between my trading and system trading and that is when i take a losing trade of 4 or more pts i get pain in my legs and want to even out the next trade and when i cant i just double up because market is slow . That is reason i end up even or totally wiped out on this , totally wiped out when market moves on random news . On the other hand system will not take position when on low Atr and it does not know last trade was loss or gain , it activates on volatility and takes what it takes and goes to sleep.
no trades by system , i had some trades from short side but ended up with 0 profit gain , market is struck to 2550+ range , now there need to be some news to take it to lower or little higher range.
we have moved to 2570+ range on Friday that was expected after the first dip , today we had a slide , since the system does not take shorts , I had loss of 500 on the dvtrend3 strategy , there was no life in upside today. System tried 2 times to buy dip but failed. Hmm this is change in behavior of market but one day - I would not mind. Total $330 for the month from 9/11. System has to catch next up wave now.
Seeing me mentioned I went back and looked at my post, and the user's first post.
I think we can be pretty sure he didn't make $100K. Also the fact that he was trying to make $100K on sim over a time period up to two years before he says he would then risk $2K live and compound up the profits. That sounds like a huge waste of time before risking such a small amount of money (for trading), and the fact the journal only last six weeks probably speaks volumes.
You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden
