Haha 10 years later...
I second the idea of a 'where are they now' thread - even one from 5 years later.
May be quite revealing.
I have not been able to find the kind of consistency I had looked for and burnt out ( for various reasons) several years back and let it all go for a while.
I then focused on endeavours that offered a better probability of producing income and concurrent life balance - ie my conventional career.
Now I am looking at semi retirement in about 2 years so with that in mind I am looking at leveraging what I have learned about trading and the markets.
My plan is to trade the higher timeframes (up to weekly where I seem to do my best work) with the majority of my trading funds and the lower timeframes (ie day trading) with a much smaller percentage...unless I can find some consistency there.
I think I have ironed out the well known cognitive biases and the psychological stuff that can ruin trading results and careers. But it sure took some doing. Like I read somewhere in here recently....I am proud I have never blown an account. My risk aversion and management strategies protected me from that. I have had good periods of profitability along the way but nothing too exciting. But has my risk aversion prevented my success in some way?
Next chapter I will be more appropriately funded and know a hell of a lot more than any previous chapter.
Doesnt mean I will kill it though.
