@sidlercom,
Just to be clear, this thread is not aimed at using the NT8 built in editor. Some of the information here may work in that but this is firmly aimed at using Visual Studio and compiling a standalone 3rd party dll. If you're wanting help with the built in editor, there are several threads which will probably be much more helpful.

Hi, is there another way to quickly change the code and test in the NT chart. normally I could save the code in VS and the NT8 editor compiled that automatically, after that I could test directly in the chart. Now NT has to be closed so VS can rebuild the project, then NT has to be restarted and everything has to be reloaded again, this is very annoying.

No, the dll you compile has changed and has to be reloaded by NT8 which happens as NT8 loads. I agree this is the biggest drawback of this approach.
