That pretty much just killed it for me right there. Timmyb was even waiting for this. So he basically said he's not gonna do it. At least he's honest about it, and i guess we can all put it to rest that its never going to happen. One of the reasons i kept sticking around, helping with these 25 release candidates was becuase they promised backfill before they even started. Then they retracted and said they would do it after NT7 came out. Now he said he's not doing it. An absolute necessity in any charting programs is proper data handling, backfill. Everything else is secondary.
So your charts load faster, thats nice, still not accurate nor complete.
That's all i needed to know. Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Well -- please watch the webinar and you can see exactly what he said because I don't want to put words in his mouth. From my memory only (!), he said he was aware of the requests but can't commit to it, or can't promise it (something along these lines), etc.
I did, it was a bit lengthy, and i tried to skip through the beginning to the Q&A session, but couldn't find it anywhere.
I'm not slamming him. He's honest about it. For a free charting platform, this is as good as it gets with ninja. I know why alot of people use his platform. Most don't have the money, nor do they want to invest in something when they haven't found their "edge" yet, and ninja is a great FREE program you can use to gain experience. Im not gonna start any arguments or go off topic about whats good or bad, but I just wanted to put it to rest finally so I don't wait for it anymore.
Yes, continuous contracts are useful, but I'd like to see a proper overview of them in the documentation before I start trading with them - I asked for this months ago. But for those whose data provider doesn't support them, or who have other reasons for using explicit contracts, being able to rollover an instrument set with one operation would be extremely useful.
Yes, on #9, I'm already thinking about symlinks. I should probably clarify #9, I was more thinking of the db/data directory, since that only gets written to when I deliberately download replay data. As you say, sharing anything more regularly written is fraught with danger....
No, I had to completely remove and reinstall NT about three weeks ago (Grrrr) and market replay acted like that before then and after. I have always had the end date default to 2099 ever since using an early NT 7 beta
Talk about an obvious patent that should never have been granted. Patenting the idea of an interface that does not jump around when you try to use it is pretty blatent patent abuse if you ask me.
