Thank you for the input. I have been using Tradestation for about 5 years and really tired of not having a Market Profile option in addition I have detest using Windows.
Do you use Investor/RT OSX? If so what about data feed, DOM, etc for Apple? I would love to trash Windows.
p.s. I it is amazing the support obtain from futures.io (formerly BMT) forum.
Thanks again,
Chris Tina
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Under Kurtosis trading - he has couple of videos at youtube.
Not sure if it will match features of Investor/RT , however i found it to be very good for my needs as i find it quite overwhelming to learn a totally new platform etc.
Hi Chris Tina
I am using IRT for years - normally with the professional tools. You have to pay extra for the Market Profile in
its original view as the licence sits with CME - therefore you have to pay to use that profile with all details.
But: there is a defined profile installed (not with characters) but as a profile vertical indicator which is totally
sufficient to see POC, Hi Volume Nodes and Low Volume nodes... depends on your use - but this is free of
extra costs. I cancelled my CME Profile extra licence as I am not need to "see" inside the profile. If you want
to have a really helpful tool - check MarketDelta - they have one which is known under "footprint"...
In fact it is the same company that makes the charts for them too - basically it is InvestorRT plus the footprint
indicator - if you do not need this - you are well at Linnsoft.
About Windows - I can understand you. I am using Mac since 30 years - and OH - Mac hits the 30st anniversary
right now - never trusted "Microschrott" - so the above mentioned solutions are very good - but not
the cheapest available. Customer support is great - and there are some nice forums as well as videosites to
get deeper into the very extensive chart package - and programming possibilities.
Some recent videos here: Linn Software, Inc.?s Videos on Vimeo
and the open forum discussing things here: Yahoo Groups
It is even possible to get beta versions to see new features.
Give it a try - you will be amazed.
For more questions - just ask.

addendum: for datafeed I am using DTN/IQ - directly with the Linnsoft package
Wow, thank you for the information about Kurtosis. Using Tradestation for so many years I know what you mean about how overwhelming it can be starting on another platform.
I love the idea of a Market Profile platform on Apple and loaded the Investor/RT for a trial version. Although only having the weekends to review if I want to complete change from Tradestation I can not see the investment in time worth it. They only provide two week trial and not a single demo or preset chart. Extremely overwhelming.
If the trial time is to short - ask them to prolong via customer support or invest into a one month only.
The learning curve on every chart platform of this depth is extremely steep. Don't expect to easily "hop over".
Of course there are a LOT of preset charts and demos.
A start to go: Investor/RT - Market Profile Charts
plus there are also a lot of free charts with settings available too...
To state my connection with the company: I am a longtime user and client.
I want to remember - THIS is the INVESTOR/RT thread - and other products should be discussed in the
appropriate threads.
There are some Preset charts on their website and a ton at Charthub.com. You just need to look for charts that are posted with definitions and you can import the whole thing in a few clicks.
