Hi Luke, excuse my lack of IP networking knowledge, but does getting the "ip hidding tool" prevent you from getting cookies, spyware, or even viruses?
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." --- "Therefore, I Believe it and I will see it. And every day and in every way, I am healthier, wealthier, and wiser."
Since Luke is not connected you can start surfing at What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address and get some more infos. Try the ip look up function... it is the other side of the technology's coin
Thanks, but I am aware of that, and I know the admins know all of our IP address. Fat Tails' thread is about these browsers spying on us...so I thought Startpage Search Engine was an interesting browser that doesn't spy on you, just trying to help. So when Luke said get the "hide ip thing" I got a bit confused...I have no interest in knowing where people are from via IP address, I just wanted to know if it would prevent spy ware...don't mean to confuse things too much.

Hi Luke, thanks! So do you recommend I use something like that? Can I have some quality references? thanks again

I have now changed the website storage settings of Adobe Player not to allow for disk space for storing cookies. This prevents most of the websites from storing cookies. Nevertheless, some website still manage to store cookies. That must be the famous zero-space cookies.
You can check this. Go to the Website Storage Settings of Adobe, delete all websites, and adjust the settings not to allow for storing cookies. Then open the website Trading Computers - Technology for High Performance People, watch the flash video. Then check the Adobe Settings Panel again, and you will find that the cookie reappears.
Adobe is cheating as well. They are all violating our rights and spying on us.
I will cheat as well and not pay anything for their software. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. I have always preferred the Old Testament to the New Testament, as it is compatible with game theory. See computer tournament initiated by Robert Axelrod. "Tit for Tat" emerged as the clear winner of the tournament. Only at a later evolutionary stage genetic algorithms were able to achieve better results for an iterated prisoner dilemma.

I'm pretty sure you can put both IPs & domain names in the HOSTS file. Won't work though if it is a site that you legitimately want to visit on occasion. So it may not work for MS and Adobe related addresses.
