Here's a couple scenarios based on "the theory of interesting lines and broken clocks." Yes, another bold prediction... It will either go up, or down, and it will probably squiggle somewhat while doing so.
No action for me today. In modifying my logic so that I would avoid the window around the BoE interest rate decision, I had an error that resulted in no entries taken the whole session. Lesson learned, I think.
Out of the loop for the past couple of days. Parental units visiting, new job underway. Trading... is struggling a little bit. I know what I need to do, just need to do it. And not do all the other bad stuff.
Today my monkeybot got confused toward the end of the session. -18
I already had kind of figured that this strategy wasn't going to perform well often in the lunch/afterlunch hours for 6E.
The data so far is in line with that hunch. I will probably have it shut off live trading around 8:30am pacific going forward, but will still monitor performance in the full session just so I have track of it.
What I really need is a "good surfing conditions" detector. Hmm. Something to think about.
Played with Asian and Euro sessions last night before finally nodding off. Need to get my schedule straight so I can take advantage of the busier times (open, close, etc) and sleep when it's slow. Missed the US RTH open because of it, which means missed opportunities. I'll be taking a closer look at how I can arrange my schedule to accommodate the busier portions of all three sessions.
It was good. A bit sloppy in places but no major mistakes, had decent feel for the direction of the market and took advantage of it as best I could. Still lots of work to be done to hone my trading to a sharp edge, but definitely feel I'm headed in the right direction. +97T on the evening.
