I just wanted to say thanks to Matt for his help in setting up my new account at Optimus futures.
I first became aware of Matt when he was posting Ninja Trader videos for programming Ninja Script.
Optimus offers an number of platforms. I will start with Sierra Chart.
I am now looking at all the videos Matt has produced about Sierra Chart.
The problem with trading is one needs to be right twice!
I hope you do like the "Optimus Screen" we designed for Sierra. I hope this would help your navigation on the platform easier.
Thank you,
Matt

Is it possible to enable Sierra Chart with CTS through Optimus? Reasons I'd like to see this include:
--Sierra Chart's forum is much more favorable to the CTS feed over Rithmic.
--I've seen Rithmic go down and lag repeatedly over the last couple years (reports in SC forum and TST chat room).
--CTS offers great server-side OCO AND bracket order support.
--Sierra Chart has great support for CTS.
--CTS+SierraChart is "simpler" than Rithmic+SierraChart for trading on Linux with Wine (no R-Trader).
--Optimus looks like a great broker -- better than DeepDiscountTrading, who offers CTS+SierraChart.
--I'm developing auto-trader systems in Sierra Chart, and unfortunately TopstepTrader no longer offers demo/practice accounts as of 2016, so traders there cannot "solely" use TST now to develop automated strategies (well you can, if you want to burn through multitudes of "combine" fees just to debug your automated strategies... sieriously BAD move on their part in my opinion, but I understand if all their customers are discretionary traders).
Thank you for the kind words. Yes, we can hook up CTS data with SierraChart.
That was always the case, and we can also find the right clearing FCM to accommodate that.
I have spoken to Brian M from CTS in order to explore a pricing model that could potentially
accommodate a larger number of traders. If there is an update on that, I will post it here.
Having said that, if you are only looking to demo only in order to develop a strategy to be funded
with TST, consider that SC also offer data for a fee along with their platform.
Thank you,
Matt

Thank you, I will contact Optimus to sign-up, and am always interested in a better pricing model if available.
I'm interested in TST because they take much of the risk out of futures trading, while returning 80% of profits to traders, which is much better than the typical 20% that hedge fund owners get, granted you build the equity all yourself. I like Sierra's CME futures feed -- don't use it currently but have tried it -- and am now working through the execution layer of my ACSIL studies, and need an actual broker data feed that supports server-side bracket orders, in order to test this part of my trading plan. I'd need access to a reliable demo feed to do that, and am willing to pay good money for it, but TST seemingly doesn't offer that now.
I think you have the model of Prop and Hedge Funds or CTA/Managed Futures bit mixed up in terms of operations and reward. CTAs or Hedge Fund Manager get 20% from the total profits that they generate for the customers net of all fees. They have to hit new highs, or as we call it "high water marks" in order to receive these fees.
They get it on the total assets that they have invested with them under their company.
This is way higher than what most props offer if indeed you are a good and exceptional trader.
There are CTAs with 50Mil to over 100mil under management with decent returns.
In fact, if you have a positive track record, not paper trading, I suggest that you take a look at that model.
This will also allow you to trade on your terms and develop a risk/reward method based on your intellect without any added pressure that prop firms may impose. We help new CTAs if they need guidance and offer Managed Futures to those who require it.

Matt, thanks for going out of your way to help me; I will likely investigate becoming a new CTA in a year or so, after getting a track record. I'm now paper trading a portfolio, and reworking the modeling so only my execution is in Sierra Chart. I'll PM you with a few questions tomorrow, but must sleep now. :-)
