Moscow time is quite nice in my opinion. You can trade FDAX, 6E, ES, and even trade later @ the TF, ES and 6E again along with CL. I would be cautious trading oil overnight as it seems a bit challenged sometimes but you are a big boy.
We hope to move to Europe which was our plan a couple years ago before we had kid #2. We will wait till they are a bit older so they can enjoy learning the language and seeing the sites...
I feel my native land calling me. haha....
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Malta I hear is quite nice! I was supposed to go there a while ago (15 years ago) and I didn't make it... I like Greece, so Crete looks pretty cool too...
I've never been to Greece or Crete. I've been on the Greek side of Cyprus. Pretty cool island but another language again.
Malta is English speaking. Taxes around 15%, uk program in schools, medicine on 5th place in the world (US at 30+). Nice climate. The only turn off is that it's island. If you wanna go somewhere have to go by air or sea.
Well, sounds good to me. I will check it out. I honestly don't mind paying taxes believe it or not. It is a form of forced 'charity' and building foundations of future generations. What I don't like is when people get 'fat' off of our taxes... haha...
I took a few trades. Over the Hollidays was playing with a lot of different stuff. Then I saw PW trading with Ichimoku. I thought: "WTF is Ichimoku?". Watched the webinar and some other videos on youtube and now I know what is it.lol
After watching it for a little bit came up with something and tried it today. For some reason I cannot follow someone's rules. I'm not sure what's up with that but I have to do something that I think is better. Happens every time with every system or method.
My own method didn't give me any clear setups so I took all my trades with Ichimoku.
I traded a week before Xmas and after. I guess I was just lucky. Here is some graphs:
I also figured something about PFGBest data. I thought it's just not so great and delayed, but comes out that it delayed only on NT (maybe some other platforms). I downloaded BestDirect8 (free platform from PFG) charts are very poor but I looked at the DOM and I saw that it moves faster than price on NT. Then I tried MotiveWave and same thing. It's faster than NT. I really like MW and it's much chipper than NT. I'm probably gonna buy it after my trial. The only thing I couldn't was sim account for practice.
My advice is get a new broker, not a new piece of software... haha... (or spend time with your kid...haha)
NT, MT4, Tradestation, Sierra Charts, Multicharts, Strategy Runner are kind of industry standards. Anything else are going to be SOOOO broker dependent that it will be a waste of time in my opinion.
Think long term, when you are trading 10 years from now, which system do you want to know and master and take to any criminal broker you wish?
MW has pretty much everything that NT does. I'm not sure about programming indies and stuff. All platforms are made to show you price movements. Some of them have more futures and others less, but idea is the same.
About the system. In my opinion good trader is not the one who mastered the method. I think good trader is the one who can trade with any indicators or without them. When you master one method you can be profitable for a while but one step left or right and you lost.
Like Deucalion said "I have no clue what the day will, but since I will not do anything stupid, the wilder the day the better chance I have to make a decent go of it".
Deeper you learn other methods you can see that they are all similar. We use different indicators to do the same thing. No matter what you have on your chart you want to make money.
I have tried a lot of different methods and I can say that they just have different twist to it. If you are a good trader you can do well with any of those.
I don't really care if some one gonna laugh or tell me just learn and master one method. If you don't see it what's the point to walk in circles.
I'm don't think I'm at the stage when I need some one to tell me what to do or how (nothing personal). I think that I'm at the stage when I have to learn how to use what I already know to do the best and make as less mistakes as possible.
HighRise said about that trader. He uses one method and doesn't listen to anybody else because he doesn't want to get bugs in his head. Well I like those bugs in my head. They make my brain work and analyze information.
I'm not looking for something very easy to use and follow the rules. I'm looking for the way of trading that I understand the best. I'm trying different methods to learn more not to find something perfect. I know there is no perfect system. By learning more I can see better.
I'm just tired following someone and trying to understand the reason of this and that. I want to an independent and do it on my own. I don't wanna be afraid what others gonna say about my trading or my method or switching from one to another. I want to concentrate on my results instead.
Like you said multiple times I'm tired of some one telling me that this method doesn't work and I have to try something different. Well I can say the same. For me success is in learning and not to be afraid of changes. I wanna keep my options open and one day I'll stop somewhere. Like one guy told me: "After a few years of watching the charts you can see it no matter what indicators you have."
It is not the indicators, the charts, whatever. And I agree that learning what everyone does is good too!
I was half-joking when I wrote that post, and it was not intended to be critical or 'telling you to do' anything. Just my advice....
To me, you are already a better trader than most. You just lack patience and confidence.... I believe you could easily take what you have been doing and just run with it for 2 months and probably be profitable. Then bloom from there. But, I think that you can also spend months on end just learning other systems and then ending up where you begin.
For me, I focus on sticking to one method, and in the background I will slowly mold other systems and just watch them in the bank of my mind. I have probably 3-5 right now that I 'play' with in evaluating them for long term, spend some time backtesting when I am bored etc..
The point is that you are already a good trader. The way you trade isn't a bad way at all and I do believe you can already almost be there if you sat on the method for any amount of time.
I enjoy watching you switch over though as I see the same habit in us all...
