If you guys haven't seen the first season of True Detective, I highly recommend it. It's right up there with The Wire as some of the best Tv ever made.
next season won't have the same cast or the conclusion from the first satanist clan. Man I really wish they just continued the story with the same cast. Hopefully the second season can compensate in someway or another.

At first, I was disappointed that McConaughey and Woody wouldn't be returning because I felt that it was some of the best work either had done. At the same time, I understand the concept of the show is a one season story arc, so I also can't wait to see what they come up with next season. If the material is on par with last season, I think whoever is cast will rise to the occasion. Can't wait to see.
If they can deliver with the same consistency the show is bound to be around for a long time otherwise it'll fall into obscurity like so many of it's predecessors. Only time will tell and I'm sure there's a lot of room for creativity in regards to serial killing dramas. Would be interesting if they some how retired the agents involved and hired new ones to work on the same case or something similar. You know kept the same story alive.
