Thanks, Mike. Found it. Unfortunately, it will not let me change to exchange time! There are two bar series (both are the same instrument) but I get a pop-up error = Instruments from different time zones cannot be mixed. Please select local Time Zone for all instruments. Arghh!
I would call this a bug as there is only one instrument. Hmmm, now I get to test their bug list site...
Ok, finally made it through the thread - lots of work, but very rewarding. I'm also on Multicharts DT and though it has a steeper learning curve than the software I've been testing before, I'm really starting to like it.
I've also had excellent support from Andrew via the live chat and it's good to see that MC are also present here, answering questions.
Thanks to Big Mike and all other who have been providing the source code to your studies, signals. As a hobby programmer it's a great resource, having someone's code to look at.
Hopefully I can get the back testing on my demo account up as soon as possible.
Hi guys,
I installed Multicharts Discretionary Trader today morning (central EUR time), just to give it a try (after reading some nice feedback here).
So, it installed, I ve set up basics of my system, and connected to my IB feed, anxious to try the new Chart trader and DOM. I trade TF, so I kicked it in and I must admit I was like WOW, I can trade live for free! It looks so nice! I can ZOOM (YEAH! :-) )! It loaded historical tick data by itself (2 days back)!
Then I made a few trades with 1 contract, decided it s enough for the day, took screenshot for my trade log.
Out of all that happiness caused by a nice piece of software, I CLICKED on something and BOOM, my little arrows indicating entries & exits were all misplaced (shifted somewhere out of market reach).
Does anyone have a clue what caused this misplacement of entries and exits? (WTH did I click on?)
I m attaching two screenshots:
1) short after the trades (OK)
2) shortly after the CLICK (not OK!)
Hi ,
does anyone know when MC releases their Beta ? In Live Chat told me, beginning march, hmmmm? Roadmap also said 1march. I've summited some bugs, and I will be very happy when it is fixed.
Hi again,
>Multicharts
Thanks I appreciate it, i ll definitely be trying it more and more, and if everything works OK (I am a bit worried now about using alpha or beta product for live trading), you probably got a new customer .
The problem with misplaced trade markers dissapeared after I completely reloaded data.
OK, now there is something I hope you help me understand. I use IB data feed and IB support strictly told me that they dont provide historical tick-by-tick data (IB aggregated tick data), and yes, Ninja Trader really cant load historical tick data from IB feed (minute data yes, not tick data). But MultiCharts downloads some 30min chunks of tick data from IB servers (been checking event log) and it works like a charm! Was IB support wrong or is there something i am missing?
