This place is some km from where I live.
The rifle is a model from 1931. My father was in second world war with such one.
It is true that active swiss soldiers (having service from age 20 to 40) do store when
not in military the rifle (or for officers a pistol) at home. Until 1990 with 2 magazines
ammunition. This was thought for securing the way to the meeting point.
Today only the arms are stored at home but ammunition you get at the meeting point.
Once per year every soldier has to make a shoot training
Since that time the "private" shootings (or crimes) with military weapons had been
reduced.
