Why does data from same data provider form different candles (different OHLC) in different platforms. I am comparing Sierra Chart/CQG with Sigma360/CQG and they are both quite different.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Which bars are you looking at? Time-based? Volume-based? etc...
my experience is that often the cause of differences between the bars on different platforms hasve to do with all sorts of chart settings and not necessarily with the data feed.
For example - did you check the session settings are similar?
I am looking at Time based bars. Yes, the settings are the same, the difference is a one or two points difference in OHLC. So say sometimes H and L may be ok, but O and C dont match, or H and L are a point off, things like that.
I think my issue is a bit different than all of the above.
I am just looking at current candle, say even a 1 min candle. It looks slightly (1 or 2 points) different in Sierrachart vs Sigma360. It could be that Sigma360 candles are based on ending time vs start of time(Sierra) It could be that.
I have had no problems with CQG data in all these years, but Sierrachart folks say others have issues. I am really not sure what the problem is. Have any of you had issues with CQG Data?

I have had no issues with CQG data for 8 years, until SC starts to promote their Denali data feed.
If you look at their posts at their forum, you would know SC hold hostile attitude to all outside data providers, especially to CQG.
Since SC have conflict of interest with outside data providers, then SC says "others have issues" this statement is worthless to believe, especially in beginning, I saw how they use false information to misunderstand traders that CQG only have 5 days tick data.
Their unethical commercial manipulation and slander really match their conspiracy theories in their forum.
That is possible, but what is the alternative to Sierrachart though. At this price, it looks like there is nothing else. I too have had no issues with CQG .
