How about letting us add an instrument WITHOUT A PLOT to a chart, so that it will not have any effect on the horizontal scaling of the chart, but can be used as a base for indicators.

My current workaround for this is to plot the instrument as an indicator itself, that achieves both of the above in NT7 but maybe NT8 will allow a direct route.
@NinjaTrader
I have a couple of other (awesome) requests - more having to do with the Charts.
1. It would be AWESOME if the charts could have a 'variable x-axis' so that the bars could be made wider and thinner according to volume! With some kind of correct logic on the width of the bars that correctly SCALES the width of the bars.
~ Like for example it can be 1 pixel wide for every x number of shares traded..?
~ Or it can look back a certain number of bars back and plot them according to the 'scale' created in those bars. For example:
If Ninja looks back 200 bars -- the lowest bar has 300 shares traded in it... well then that is the lowest pixel (let's say 20 pixels) width and sort of sets the ratio. Then every other bar would be 300 shares / 20 pixels = 15 shares per pixel wide. Idk - just throwing a idea or thought out there.
Something like this where we see the volume is great for tracking volume going in and out of a stock or whatever...
2. POSSIBLY EVEN MORE Awesome -- would be to make Ninja be Able to PAINT ALL THE TICKS INSIDE OF A BAR INDIVIDUALLY with PAINT BAR STUDIES.
Like for example a 10 tick Bar on CL instead of painting the whole thing GREEN when the conditions are "green" for it according to the PaintBar study - it would be awesome if during the first part of the bar the first 3 ticks of that bar - was a RED PaintBar condition -- then those first 3 little squares would be red. Then the rest of bar would be GREEN.
This would be much better for Paint bar studies ! To be able to show in the 5 Minute bar for example EXACTLY WHEN the condition turns Green
-- And look back in the chart and see where all the changes where on the chart.
I don't even care if this would use more graphics power. I would buy a stronger graphics card for this - no problem.
this would be very very cool and I think no one else in the industry is or has done this before.
It would allow us to paint INSIDE the bar - each tick of the bar - and we could paint that bar Green and Red according to how much buying or selling is in it also. That would be very nice.
3) The ATM is doing this weird thing on NT7 that it will align the ATM templates according to the first number on their names only -- instead of the entire number...
I have a few ATM templates a 3 tick, a 10 tick and 20 tick titled templates.
And Ninja will put the 3 tick template === after the 10 tick template because 3 is more than 1 in the 10.
4. Is it posible to highlight a bar - like this on this picture...? Just the region of the bar and a few ticks above and below its HIGH AND LOWS ( wicks ) ?
To me the instrument manager is very awkward. It seems like I have to over babysit it and the information is not very intuitive. The manager should be more intelligent and only list those contract months applicable. The ability to also add instruments via category search with a branching menu to choose the appropriate instrument would be much better for my style. The option to automatically remove instruments when they expire, rollover to the next contract month. Just some ideas....
1. This is not supported out of the box but could surely be custom coded in NinjaScript in NT8.
2. This also could be supported with custom programming.
3. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, likely a known issue but either way will send it through to my team.
4. I believe you could do this manually or programmatic by drawing a rectangle?
Integrate the DOM and charts ALOT MORE. MAKE THE DOM AND CHART CONNECTION MORE POWERFUL.
I mean the following -
It would be awesome if we had our cursor on the DOM (*and the DOM is the 'Active Window' ) well I would love the Crosshair to follow the PRICE my POINTER is at on the DOM ! That would be awesome.
Other platforms already do that. It is excellent.
Also Vice Versa.
I am moving my crosshair/pointer on the chart -- and a Hightlighted rectangle moves up and down the DOM on that other platform.
I would love to have the same thing on the NT8 DOM.
MORE SPECIFICALLY - 'Even better'
It would be much better to move the pointer on the DOMs prices and have a Horizontal line move up and down on the chart -- just a horizontal line because that would be correct and closer to Reality -- since there is no 'time or time stamp' on the DOM.
Also It would be awesome if we did have different 'Crosshair' options. Sometimes I just want a horizontal line across the chart to show me the price ... but not the vertical.
This would be a very very nice hi-tech addition to Ninja.
