when importing my 3.0 journal i get an extra M6E added at the bottom of the instruments table:
now when i try to do what i did before in testing going from 3.0 -> beta 39 -> fresh beta 39 to test and see if it copies over the decimal setting, instead of failed to import i get this run time error:
and here is the debug:
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
i think ive figured out why this isnt working too.. if you try to import a journal with the same file name it doesnt work.. change the file name by a letter or something and it works..

I have fixed the issue with the Instrument list now.
The other thing is a true limitation. You are right, it's caused by identical filenames...
I updated the file in the last post.
I think we are more or less ready to start working on the TPS thing....so you want it for month and quarter? I think week would produce quite a massive block by now...perhaps I can find a way to stick that in somewhere else?
-the transactions tab isnt copying properly.. in my journal i have the transactions completely empty and deleted all empty rows. when i import to new journal it resets it to the way a fresh journal has it.
-i tested the decimal option during migration and it doesnt seem to be carrying over for some reason..
i dont really think the weekly table need a balance of the account under the days.. that doesnt really make sense anyways? quarter and year tables need it for sure.. i would like it on the monthly matrix, but its not a must.

something is getting transferred with the decimal option because when you see the newly imported journal and are on the overview tab, you have the option to 'show decimal places'(even tho they are supposed to be enabled from the import), if you click it, it doesnt do anything, and then if you click it again the decimals show up.. something to do with the button im thinking..

ok here is an issue i hadnt brought up cuz i havnt really spent much time on these tabs, but i noticed that after an import on a fresh journal this 'pivot table field list' would pop out on the pivot table tab. and now its popping up a run time again:
and here is the debug:
