"It’s awe-inspiring to consider that this planet has spent 6 billion years in the habitable zone of its star; longer than Earth," Jenkins said in the written statement. "That’s substantial opportunity for life to arise, should all the necessary ingredients and conditions for life exist on this planet."
Suddenly makes everything I care about seem insignificant
All I can think about now is why wasn't I born in to a world like star wars or at least not in the outback, I want to be a part of a galactic empire...
How depressing...
Makes me want to go and play eve online again lol.
Just too many orders of magnitude involved in time and distance when compared to civilisation spans, so no Type III's without warp drive. Asteroids make awesome filters, nothing greater needed. Ask the dinosaurs for 'Out', although they might also provide a lot of 'In'.
A 5K Mesopotamian golden kettle of fish off the local Mars stopping bus might have been a different tale though. More 'g' than 'G'.
When it came to writing in space, NASA began to r and d the space pen. When research skyrocketed, they abandoned the project and went back to using pencils....
Don't understand something, over complicate it... I have made a career out of trading …
by @offx1degree. The NASA pen story is as much bullshit as the thread where this was posted.
Another example where someone spouts something as truth, that is just plain wrong.
EDIT: @Big Mike not trying to cause the thread to spill over here, just this NASA pen story irks me so much and is so prevalent even though simple research would prove it to be false.
