I discovered what is a problem for me and i have not found a solution yet.
Situation: i have a chart open with a ton of lines i drew. now if i change the instrument that is plotted in the chart, those lines (and all other drawings) are hidden. this is a feature of MC and works as designed. the problem is, i would like to see my lines changing the hidden/show status does not change it.
anyone knows how to get MC to display drawings after instrument change?
EDIT 2: ok, finally found a solution. a second instrument on the chart which is invisible. all drawings are based on this instrument - therefore, if you switch the first one, the drawings are still there
I'd like to remind everyone that Thr 16th @ 4:30pm Eastern we're hosting a MultiCharts webinar, and handing out (2) lifetime licenses, plus (2) winners will also receive (2) hours of custom programming time for any indicator or strategy programming needs.
Finally setting-up the new PC... Should this also move-over imported symbols? I had imported over 6,000, yet I'm not seeing them.
The MCDT install on this new machine was in the Program Files (x86) folder, not in Program Data, which I don't have in my Windows 7 Professional install on the new computer. Hasn't been going smoothly..
Send a private message to @MultiCharts, or contact their live chat support. I created a Project Management request for a backup import/export tool a while back, you might be able to find it in their PM center and vote on it.
Mike, I had also posted on their forum too, but given the eyeballs there, and from past experience. I'll probably get a response tomorrow morning. If not, I'll PM as you said... Thank you.
Oh, if I find your PM request, I'll vote for it also. So far, search has not found it for me over there...
And, for within that, to get my symbols over, this seems to be the way:
Currently, MultiCharts allows you to backup your QuoteManager -> go to QuoteManager > File > Export Data > Export All instruments. This will create a QMD file that you can take to another computer and import there.
