So I need to know if the conditions are the ones you want, or if you want to use something else? In the pictures with the dots, you can see which phase we are in according to the conditions you spelled out. Is this what you want to use, if so, what about those conditions where the phases overlap? I.e. when it shows sideways AND one of the other phases? Meaning, if it shows sideways AND some other phase, do we assume the phase is really sideways? This seems most logical to me.
Or do you want to use some other condition?
Again the calculations used to determine trend where the following:
Using higher tf to filter trades on smaller tf sounds very appealing, issue is, we need some better way to demarcate the phase. I have been working on various combinations that work well if it is optimised for a particular instrument for a particular period. But same settings stop working on the same instrument on a different period all together.
I think that CCI to generate signals on the smaller TF, in concert with the context from the higher TF trendstate is interesting. Like you said before that smaller TF will keep you out of a lot of potentially good trades. But it also seems to filter out a lot of the bad ones.
Looking at this on various instruments using 10 range for the trading chart and 30 range for the big picture context.
