I do notice that sweet foods taste twice as good when dipped into coffee so I believe there's some compensation here. I would like to know how long this lack of sweetness, or increased sweet-tooth, lasts after consuming coffee. I do notice the coffee does coat the tongue, but never noticed this reaction to sweets. However, I have been addicted to tobacco on numerous occasions and I don't necessarily recognize the lack of taste or smell. Only when I stopped after a few days I noticed my senses being restored.
