There's a slightly similar movie called "The Pit" which is on Netflix. There's some funny characters in this with the star being "Hollywood". He reminds me of a Joe Pesci type.
But this is all pit based stuff. Very different from what we're doing obviously.
Rogue Trader is another good one in showing the importance of risk management.
I actually liked Margin Call because I was involved with that world at one point in my career (partially why I left that world).
some good entertainment to keep my busy this sunday after noon in a educated way
"rouge trader is a classic" - shocking really
one thing i have never under stood about the pits...as i have never been able ot get in them because of 9/11
how the hell do they know who has bought and sold just by yelling lol
are they shouting to there brokers on the other side of the pit

I went new work last year to try and get involved, but no one would let me in the exchanges
looks like pure kaos / charnage

Here are the videos. I am closing this thread, lets keep main discussion back in the other thread. I only created this thread to hold the videos so they were Elite only.
Yes, perfect - opening right at friday's low - was either going to charge up into value or breakout down. I was long just before the open but closed and got short right at the open. I'm curious though - were you ready to go long had buyers started lifting the market? Or were you only looking short? thanks Ben.

The ON session was out of balance/value. We opened right at the previous low which called for a nice short. Had the ON session been balanced then I think a long would have made sense but we were just too far down from the previous close and out of balance to take the long.
Thanks! Basically since we were already moving steadily out of balance during the entire o/n session the expectation/probability favored continuation OUT of balance? That makes sense.
Sometimes I notice that right at the open there is a direction change from the o/n move - I think of this as the o/n traders pushing things too far and essentially trapping themselves - then the RTH traders come in and blow them out which carries the market back into value. See January 2nd of this year for an example of what I'm talking about. The market was out of balance and the o/n move was continuous - then right at the open there was a direction change and the market retraced 100 ticks or more.

completely failed to sell that break out..open drive down
Just went for a long at the POC/Value area lows from 1/28/2013 profile
The only thing that im thinking is PB will be trying to target the backet lows that were back in around $95.60

Market came back into balance/value after finding support in the middle of the previous bracket area. Exit runner and look for a trade in opposite direction. Excellent long location was DVAL for ETH session and VWAP for RTH.
