I'm going to start Qtrader for mainly option spreads Cqg is great with customer response but would be great to hear from someone who uses it all the time.
Do you use it to sell spreads?
I have questions like if u open a UDS spread do u have to close/roll as a UDS or can u split the legs?
Does it show margin before u execute?
Thanks
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Does anyone have any experience with their RTD dashboards and Qtrader? I like the idea of having a whole market dashboard open without having to leave something like TOS on all the time. Seems like a great feature but not sure if it's a resource hog, etc. ? https://news.cqg.com/workspaces
I've tried a couple and I haven't noticed any performance issues. You may want to give it a try and see what task manager (if you're using Windows) says about it.
RTD is really versatile and if you're good with Excel it can help a lot.
Xplorer, that liquidate function you pointed out really sucks for scalping, you right click, go to the drop down, select the liquidate item then a confirmation box appears, then you click that and it liquidates, meanwhile the position has moved 2-3 ticks lol
Sounds like it's absolutely unsuited for scalping. Try looking up the keyboard shortcuts - you can activate trading by pressing keys (e.g. b for buy, s for sell, etc.) which are customizable. Maybe there's a flatten option you could look up.
I figured out how to turn off that confirmation, but it's still too many steps and awkward. I've never seen a DOM without a flatten button before. Every other thing about it is great though
You can disable the conformation button.
Click on set up button on the DOM when DOM activated--Trading preferences--notification, and disable the conformation.
BTW, the notification button is something that pops up on many platform for beginner traders AND advanced trades to make sure they enter the order correctly. Most know that you can disable these types of orders.
I hope this helps.
