I found this video very informative on using an HDTV as a monitor:
and his set up with 3 40" TVs seems like the ideal set up (if not over the top) for a trader:
Btw, the key is a HDTV with HDMI 2.0 connection in order to support 60Hz (as it was pointed here before), and of course a new generation video card that supports HDMI 2.0 like the GTX980.
what about these 40in monitors being curved rather than having them at angles? is that something you guys would be interested in? my issue is i want to move to a motorized sit/stand desk and finding something that is big enough or L shaped to do the trick. the weight isnt an issue anymore as these screens are light and most of these desks are rated pretty high for the amount of weight they can push. its usually over 300lbs on the good desks..
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see
My concern as well. Will have one here in two weeks, then can better "simulate" the effect of two, or even three. I will definitely have at least two. Knowing me, probably end up with three.
i know you will, but let us know all of the dimensions and what not and what it would possibly look like. this is a ways out for me anyways. actually i wonder what it would be like with 1 curved one in the middle and a flat one on either side to fit a desk better than the half moon 3 curved ones would create.
just looking at the geekdesk max, you can get the motorized frame only and you can put your own desktop on it. i like the the one they have but might like the 'UpDesk PowerUp' desktop as its curved a little in the middle. i have emailed them to see if you can order just their desktop.
