Well Kami, unfortunately it's not all roses over there. Dukascopy EU has more flexible rules than Dukascopy Bank, but a US Citizen(or legal entity) cannot get an account with either one of them. The closest you will get is a white-label with Alpari-us which was a path I considered and then rejected after a little research.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
Yes, of course it is possible, but not without considerable expense and effort versus just being able to open an account.
One day, I do plan on doing business and having trading accounts based in another country(hint, it's close to Hawai‘i, can you guess?) and I will have an legal entity there when I do, however to set that up today would cost me close to $15K and take a couple weeks of hard work and long flights to make happen.
I don't have the resources necessary to ensure success for that plan at the moment... :-)
However, what I have found is that when I get to that point, I'll not be fooling around with MB Trading or Dukascopy. Regardless of what they say about being institutional, they behave like retail. I'm going to be trying one or two of the "real" brokers (that I can afford) and see if they are any better. According to posts here, they are, so I'm looking forward to that!
I see you are with ATC. I was considering opening with them. How do you like it? I'm going to open a small account with DDP and see how that goes.
What part of Honolulu are you in bluemele? Although currently not living there, I like to say I'm from Makiki which is my favorite place to live(Waikoloa second!)
Just Google : Dukascopy Introducing Agent. There are plenty ranging from 45% to 49% rebates.
Please realize that if introduced by IA, dukascopy service client team will most of the time disregard your requests sometimes the harsh way. They then expect that your IA to address your issues but sometimes, after application has been locked, most IA just won't have time anymore for extra service.
To conclude, it may be a bad idea if you're the kind of trader who may need support from time to time, especially since Duka has lowered its commissions recently and globally they remain quite competitive.
