I've purchased his material which I am going through now. It's not a huge learning curve but will required some serious time investing on your part in understanding his concepts.
I have not traded with real money yet because I am still in the learning phase. However I watch the market in real time to look for the confirmation signals and patterns that he mentions in his material. I have also posted many of DOK on his site. I do not use any indicators but I do use the market profile in conjunction with his material.
I recently found this educator because I was doing a google search on price action techniques and strategies. It caught my interest because he seems really intricate with his methods, almost scientific in his approach. I just downloaded his free WBR Analysis Tutorials, chapters 1-3, which has about 60+ pages. I started reading the material and thus far it looks pretty interesting.
The WRB's or Wide Body Range analysis serves as a method to gain an overall perspective on price action as it relates to current market conditions. This analysis helps traders identify volatility and supply and demand levels, which in turn provide an edge in predicting price direction. The WRB is just one piece of the puzzle and it doesn't provide trade signals. For that, you need to either: (i) use a free signal strategy he offers, (ii) use your own trade signals in combination with WRB analysis (which could enhance your results), or (iii) you can also purchase his trade signal strategies, which evidently are a nice bunch and they work well with his WRB. So what I think he's saying is that before you ever consider pulling the trigger (trade signals) you must have the fundamental perspective on the market and this is provided by understating his WRB Analysis. Sounds nice in theory, but at this point I am cautiously optimistic about this.
In any case, thus far I am interested and continue to read and learn his methodology; but I realize there still a long way for me. I think M.A. Perry comes across as someone who is genuine and not necessarily someone who is looking to sell you something. He seems very honest about the amount of work you will have to do (read his Q&A section on his website). Also, I found TheStrategyLab.com on a recent report by Dean Handley as one of his top picks of trading educators.
I hope this information helps. If I decide to purchase his entire program, this means I will go in more depth and I would like to keep posting my progress on this forum, and perhaps meet other traders who are doing the same so we can compare notes and help each other out. Good luck to everyone !
I'm about to purchase his full material soon. As in my mind it seems like the only legit option to successfully learn how to trade from a real successful trader. Have you seen his insane performance? The amount of points he's pulling from the market.
I skimmed the first few chapters, and just being made aware of the wide range bars, changed my outlook on them. I remeber always seeing them and new a big move had occured, so i would usually expect a pull back, but it never came.
After reading about them and when i opened up charts i can see how they are precursors to massive market trends usually.
Anyway any updates from anyone using his techniques?
Blown away by the performance that he posts. Perhaps he trades large amount of contracts at a time. Downloaded the free indicator. Will attempt to get my hands around this system and see what kind of edge I can extract from it.
Where did you find a free indicator to download on his site? I don't see one. From what I know, he is against using indicators so I guess that is why I am asking.
It's currently the 4th one down on the above page. Dated Jan 10, 2016. I haven't had much chance to look at it. Loaded the indicator, nothing popped out to me. Working on a few other systems right now. I plan to circle back later and revisit this and do some testing on it at another time.
