well i left out of town for a couple hours so im on my phone but the settings are exactly the same as the picture i posted above but i changed to input series to the correct indicator i wanted the sound alerts on.. the indicator im appling it to is the paceoftapeParis indicator as shown in the picture.. you can see the '300' price label(blue) on those small little charts.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I do not know what that Pace-of-Tape indicator does, I do not have it installed. The alert indicator uses the average true range the input series to trigger the alert signal. You could try to apply an average true range to that Pace-Of-Tape indicator and tell me what happens.
thats prolly why i thought the sound was firing at random.. is there a way to make the sound alert fire purely when it crosses that user defined level(in my case '300')?
I found the PaceOfTape_paris indicator somewhere and tested it with anaLineAlertsOnIndicator. No problem at all, it works as expected.
Again, from your indicator settings I can see that you did not apply the anaLineAlertsOnIndicator to the indicator, but to price. Please select the indicator as input series, as I have already asked you to do in post #14.
The alert will only be triggered, when the threshold is approached, but will not be triggered again when the threshold is exceeded. The indicator uses half the ATR(20) of the previous bar to calculate the alert margin. In case that the the ATR(20) is 2, the alert margin would be 1 and the alert would be triggered at the value 30 - 1 = 29 as shown below.
i have the analinealertsonindicator showing that its selecting the indicator paceoftap_paris, and i get the ATR thing, but i was wondering if it was possible to make the alert when it crosses the exact level we input, in my case 300.
as a feature this would be nice because we could have a sound alert for when its crossing that defined level from the bottom(maybe a power up sound) and back down from above(a power down sound)..
-> either set the offset to 0, and the sound alert will go off, when price respectively the indicator value touches the alert level,
-> or set the offset to a value > 0, and the sound alert will go off, when price enters the range around the alert level
I am still sticking with a single sound file. Please let me know, if you get the sound alerts as expected now.
ive just tried the new version, and made sure to reload the ninjascript on the charts, but i am still getting the alerts in a range and i have 'offset for alerts' set to 0. here is the video i made to show you.
you can fastforward to the 1minute mark to see where it happens..
