I really like Samsungs. Great build quality and reliability on the samsung syncmasters. Dell has some really nice high end ultra sharp monitors.
I can't really rank but bang for the buck hard to go wrong with Samsung imo.
"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."
Depends on what you're using it/them for... You don't need much for trading...
I've used Samsung for years, both as TVs and monitors... Relatively cheap and good quality. NEC are pretty good...
If have a little more to spend, have a look at Eizos. Arguably the best monitors out there...
Samsung panels are arguably one of the best. I would specifically look at only IPS panels. Personally, I also use my own mounting stands - so spending extra money on monitors with adjustable stands is not needed.
Dell does have some nice UltraSharp models, which if you are patient you can sometimes catch on fire sale through one of many various promotions they run from time to time, or you can get last years model in their warehouse.
27" is too large in my opinion. Better to get two 24" instead of one 27". Just personal opinion, and will largely depend on what you are planning to do (watching movies... etc).
I second that. Better to have two 24" than one 27", if you're using it/them for trading. Unless you get one with a higher resolution than 1980 x 1080/1200, that is...
If you plan on using it for graphic design, watching movies or gaming etc, then it's a different matter.
Please note that the Apple CD has a 12ms response time, so not that suitable for gaming...
I like the Central Station from Samsung, I found it quite practical:
It seems that Samsung has 3 for 3 good reliable and quality reviews...I will therefore look at the Samsung P2770 HD Monitor.
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." --- "Therefore, I Believe it and I will see it. And every day and in every way, I am healthier, wealthier, and wiser."
I don't think it matters much to be honest. LCD seems to be something that we default to higher price = higher quality but I just don't see it.
My 2006 bottom the line 19 inch acer still works fine even after having a pack a day smoke blown on it for years when I smoked.
I've got two 24 inch hans g that work just as well as when I got them.
I would just get the two cheapest 24 inches on newegg.
Also consider that LCD televisions are years old now but I've never seen one in the garbage even though it would not be worth getting something repaired at this point. They just last no matter what brand.
