I currently use Rithmic\Trade Navigator by Genesis. And clear thru Optimus\Vision. I have to say it's a new combo for me ( 3 months ). That being said i amy VERY happy with my move. Matt at Optimus has been amazing. Anything i have needed from competitive rates to programing help he has been quick to help and satisfy. His team over at Optimus are great also, very attentive and helpful.
My experience with Rithmic has been equally pleasant. I was using IB before Rithmic\Optimus-Vision and CQG before that. I found that switching ( not my choice )from CQG to IB that i was getting slippage which i did not experience with CQG. Since CQG does not integrate with Trade Navigator i started searching for an alternative to IB for futures. Hearing and reading good things about Rithmic\Optimus-Vision combo from this site i decided to give them a try and have been very happy! My slippage issue is gone, so i no longer miss my CQG feed.
Hi. I also came to optimus from interactive brokers as I am working on some high frequency stat-arb trading algorithms.
For this type of trading the platform is key, and Rithmic offers the best data feed that I have seen at a cost which does not break the bank. Tick to trade in less that 250 microseconds allows a small trader to complete at the same level as even some large banks and hedgefunds.
It is also nice to know that optimus is a Rithmic strategic partner
With both c++ and C# api's for Rithmic, Trading via optimus enables the development of completely customized trading algorithms which do not have to run within a Trading platform for fastest performance.
I have found the optimus team very responsive and helpful. They have set me up with a UAT account on the CME's simulated infrastructure so I can make sure my code is running appropriately before I launch it. They work very hard and have a professional attitude.
You can read a bit more about them here. www.optimusfutures.com
With the volatility on the last few days my AMP/Zenfire NT platform plots the arrows for opening and closing positions with a lag. Meaning that I place a trade and the markers show the entry 3 or 4 candles before.
Support at NT had me to erase a few data folders from db and tick folders and also to reset the clock on my computer (a W7 operating system) in two different ways.
STILL SUFFERING LAG WHEN PLOTTING THE MARKERS.
any of you have experienced the same ?
How reliable is that dataflow compared to a NT CQG connection? Are we zenfire users getting late to the game?
Good trade to all.
i see a greater concern in several places about zenfire lagging on speed with CQG. Big issue. Imagine trying to intercept the quarterback and find that he already outrunned you and launched the ball...
Is it possible that a CQG connection...for a retail trader can be more accurate and strictly to the fraction of a second compared to Zenfire?
I get no lag even in big fast markets with rithmic. I also very rarely get any slippage. Really I could say slippage is virtually non existent for me. In these crazy markets the last few weeks I have not had any slippage at all.
I also agree with others on Optimus. My experience with Matt has been very good.
"The day I became a winning trader was the day it became boring. Daily losses no longer bother me and daily wins no longer excited me. Took years of pain and busting a few accounts before finally got my mind right. I survived the darkness within and now just chillax and let my black box do the work."
@liquidcci, from your profile it says you trade CL, and in this post you mention you've had no slippage at all during the past few weeks. Are you trading fewer than 5 contracts for the majority of your trades? Thanks.
