Totally agree with the no indicator approach. Hopefully I'll be getting a thread going soon to show examples of my approach with S/R, volume, and price action. Great site!

You have to be a member of EOTPro to get the EOT indicators. It is commercial, not free, and not part of futures.io (formerly BMT).

Hi Mike, good post about using three timeframes. I've been using 3 tfs for a long time, just after reading "Come into my trading room" from Alexander Elder. In his book Elder call this a "Triple Screen" and devotes a big part of the book to this concept.

Hi Zeller,

I confess, I posted the RangeNoGap bar chart.

NT's Range bar chart annoyed me. So I modified it slightly.

Their 4 tick range bars actually needs 5 ticks to form properly.

4 ticks plus the 1 tick gap.

I removed the gap.

If you want to do a side by side comparison, set NT's range bars to 4 ticks and NoGap to 5 ticks.

As far as indicators are concerned, I believe the only differences are seen on indicators that use bar "Open" series data.

I believe NT's Range Bar "Open' series is providing wrong data.

NT and I agree to disagree on this "Open" series data issue.

High, Low, and Close remain the same. ( that's nearly all indicators with no differences.)

RJay

Hi Rjay, I know this post has few weeks already....but caught my attention your commentary about using "open" and the disagreement with NT. How are we these days on that matter?
I do use your 4 range no gaps, the 4 range from ninja is awfull. Regards.

hi, mike, i receive a lot of recomendation to not be scalper, and i see here that you were considerer yourself (2009) scalper, when did you finished?
i feel i am scalper, i started to enter at the low or high the vol prof, with minimum risk, and target the other extreme the vol prof, but i realized that a lot of moves only went little ticks, then i test to catch these, +1,+2,+3, and then i realized that +3 and more where less event ocurrences, and whith the consistency in mind, as everybody says, that consistency is the key, work more on that, an now, i move on the +1,+3tick, with highwin%, and low std dev winings, low dd, and now i am testing myself if i can manage live that, and how will be the risk tolerance ,to foudn out if i can swing 30 lots of that strategy
i considerer this process very usefull, and it was thansk to you recomendation"start journaling i stop to working on the mind"
thanks for your job
alejo
