In the midst of a storm that has the whole east coast torn apart, a mainstream economics professor and Columnist took the opportunity to provide the world with a perfect example of “the broken window fallacy”.

In his new article “The Economic Impact of Hurricane Sandy … Not All Bad News“, Professor Peter Morici puts forward the idea that the clean up following Hurricane Sandy will stimulate economic growth, and thus be good for the economy.

Unfortunately, it seems that the the broken window fallacy is missing from Mr. Morici’s mainstream economics curriculum.“The broken window fallacy” is used to debunk the popular but false argument that the destruction of property stimulates economic growth by creating messes that people will eventually be paid to clean up.

Turmeric seems to limit patients who get ALzeheimers. In India where its used alot, not many cases of Alzeheimers, read a study somewhere awhile ago....they zoomed in on Turmeric as a possibile great antioxidant and possible reason....
They are doing more research.

Here is my Lemon Rice recipe:

1 cup of white basmati rice (organic)
1 Tablespoon of Tumeric (you can use less to get use to it: 1 heaping teaspoon)
Juice of 1/2 lemon (will need one lemon)
2 cups of water

Bring rice to boil, lower to mild boil, add all the ingredients.

Mild boil for 10-11 minutes.
When it is finished, squeeze the other half of the lemon over the rice.
If you want add some peas pre-cooked to make it look pretty.

I use South River Barley Miso, 3 years aged, to season it.
Three Year Miso
Just take a heaping tsp and put it in about 4 Tablespoons of hot water, stir it, let it sit for a minute or two and then pour over your rice and veggies. It will add a little salty flavor to your rice and also is very medicinal: it kills cancer cells.

Enjoy,

Rachel

While it did not take long it was expected. Former vice president Al Gore put out a statement on his blog on Tuesday and blamed the intensity of Hurricane Sandy on "global warming pollution." :

PICKET: Al Gore blames Hurricane Sandy on 'global warming' - Washington Times
============================

Well I cant say that I did see this coming... The man is a moron. More to the point, he is not a scientist, he's just a politician selling an agenda of carbon taxes and carbon credits, from which he hopes to make millions.

One more time... Heat alone does not create storms. Storms are caused by a temperature differential, and severe storms are caused as much by upper atmosphere cooling as by surface warming. The proof is seen on Jupiter, Saturn, and the other gas giants, which have monster cyclonic storms larger than our entire planet, yet their temperatures are hundreds of degrees below 0. But then, Al Gore once claimed the temperature of the Earth's core was "millions of degrees." It's actually about 5000 degrees C.

Great points VT supported by scientific facts. Even a private pilot probably knows a lot more than Gore on how clouds and storms are formed. Oh wait, he or his wife had owned a gas guzzling private Boeing 707 with those old noisy engines but they don't fly it themselves of course. How laughable that Gore tries to make himself relevant again when the most pressing issue is jobs and wage deterioration. I guess he had to do it from what his "masters" told him it's time to since no one else brought it up about Sandy. Would rather hear him calling for a reinvestigation of 9-11 or how come there were so many chemtrails around Hurricane Sandy when it was forming. Now I heard not too good things about Rand Paul. Disappointing. Wall St. was more concerned how soon could the NYSE reopen. I am sick and tired of Kudlow repeating "Bengazi" over and over. No talk about repatriation of jobs, even the first 3rd party debate only mouthed a couple of sentences on the issue and instead just picked relatively small blame issues on the "war on drugs" and "legalizing marijuana" ; what about how small mom and pop shops are dead and franchises and corporations keep finding ways to cut manpower and wages while corporate profits are at record highs. Even a teenager can't run a hot dog stand without being shut down by police in an hour after he was already told by a useless city council sitting hag that he didn't need a "permit". These truly feel like the end times. Like the Statue of Liberty in Revelations, "her cup' eth runneth over"! fiscal cliff, national financial collapse.

More on the kid's hot dog stand.
