Hi @GFIs1,
Why is this so important to you?
I mean, I also don't really get the why (to avoid spam, or what did it say?? and how does filling in some of these fields help).
Thanks,
Deetee
While my reaction wasn't quite as intense I agree with the disappointment in the ham-fisted implementation of the useless requirement (did anyone even consider that people might trade more than one duration of trade or have a highly variable trade frequency?). In any event, @bobwest and @bigmike should probably be aware of the lack of joy being spread today.
Hi GFIs1,
I am sorry to hear that. I was annoyed myself, as I only recently became elite member, which is, I paid for it.
So, before you leave, will you leave me your future location where you will be posting. I found your blog very interesting and studied it for a while and was about to ask you some questions about it.
@xplorer and I have made some recent posts on these changes in the changelog, which I would like to refer you to (these changes are new to us as well, and definitely were not intended to have the effect that they have had.)
Mike GFIs1 raised some concerns about the fact that you made those "trade frequency" fields compulsory.
I think his concerns are legitimate, i.e. to avoid the risk of falling foul of various privacy regulations around the world, you would be …
While I was not involved in this change, I can 100% guarantee that Mike did not intend offense to anyone by it, nor to violate Swiss or any other law.
The new trading frequency selections announced yesterday in the changelog thread, after a discussion Mike had with another member about their trading frequency and time horizon for holding positions. (Location field was not discussed.)
I felt (and feel) that the trading frequency items could be useful but should not be mandatory, as I discuss. As to the location, I am surprised this is insisted on, but I know that the location field, including the language that without it, "your account will be deleted instantly and permanently" has been there, unchanged, since I joined the forum in 2013 (I remember it due to its severity ). In fact, many locations have been accepted since then and this has not been enforced.
Why location was added to the mandatory message, I do not know. I discuss this in the changelog thread also, as does @xplorer.
I do ask that everyone give Big Mike the benefit of the doubt and assume that at worst he has made an innocent mistake, not an intentional affront. And add your views to the discussion in the changelog thread if you have any unresolved issues or concerns you want to have heard.
Bob.
