Well said: - Double Cheers to You!
I think my best trades were on Saturday: THEN I never found a negative one
- Missus expenses of course not counted...
At what point do you decide to move your stop to breakeven ?? Sometimes you move it to breakevens and others not- what is the rule to move stop to breakeven?
Thanks
There is a rule of thumb if in the morning the move is quickly in the right direction - but the market
all over is in indecesion - this can mean it comes violently back.
On normal days - some noise can occur - and a move makes not much sense.
On Tuesday I moved it because
a) I was not at the computer
b) it was a day in the week when I normally do NOT trade
Ah thanks, so you only move the stop to breakevens on days you do not usually trade? ie. tuesday/thursday? other than that you have a hard stop of minus 30 points??
Thanks
exactly - the stop is normally outside of the noise and there to protect from bigger loss.
A 30 point stop in the Dax has been seen as wide enough when trading several hours
during the day.
Today bigger volume expected.
Not so for tomorrow's triple witch day.
Might give some hefty movements on both sides.
This is not the normal Thursday - but a battle for some important level to reach.
My impression is to see lower prices...
Tomorrow NO GFIs1 trade.
Looking at your trades- dont u think it would be better to have profit targets? IE if 100 points in prfoit then bank it? as many times you have been 100+ then u end up taking +18 etc.. at say 14.30 exit trade time. ( yes u will miss the +167 trades obviosly )
I am trading this system over 4 years now - about which we can read in this thread a 3.5 years history now.
First as price was lower - the patterns occured and gave the best results. 100 points then was nearly impossible.
Now since beginnning with the rally of this year we had extreme situations. Of course a TP could help to cash in.
But some nice moves might occur too..
I have too little results for backtesting this. So the rules will not change right now.
Looking forward to coming months I am nearly sure that we will see lower Dax again and at these lower levels
the patterns will work again.
If this does not happen - I will collect enough data to get more points with the system.
But for all the moments when high volume and high vola occur - my Walzer gives nearly guaranteed points.
Taking both possibilities together, we can see again nice points coming.
