Hi GF1s1,
Is there a rule to put stop-loss at break-even?
Thanks

sorry for inconvenience...
Hi @Ralph07
this is a rare occurence today:
1) I said - very nervous markets and low volumes
2) price went down as expected - but very fast
3) instead of waiting for a SL of 33 points (which would have happened) I decided to
get out without a loss today
You are right - I normally don't follow the trade - and as mentioned in other posts if
price is in daily Kumo (which still is) then a risk averse trader has better to stay at
the sidelines. In this special today case with Ben speaking soon and some other factors
I did not like to see a loss.
Good trades!

Ok no worries,
I was not in a position... Indeed you are right, after being onside 50-60 points , you can not accept a stop-loss...
Keep up the good work!

Looking at one 30 minutes up-move candle in the Dax today:
The move from 13:00 to 13:30 went from 8177 to 8243
which gave 66 points in 30 minutes
but guess what? - whith a measly volume of 9772 contracts
and a daily volume of less than 45K til' then.
This means a small group of traders pushed the rest and many
stop loss settings away with not too much investing.
So one has to be alerted and either sitting the day long in front of
the screen or staying at the sidelines.
Just some thoughts..

Two Bad US numbers were seen on 14:30...
Ben's speech is scheduled for 16:00
Dax was turning up near exactly 12:00
and still pushing up
SO:
some market participants might know "already more" than others

You can already read Ben's speech.
Here is the info:
"Text of the testimony is due to be released 90 minutes earlier than the speaking time listed"

ouch - if Bank of America results can push the Dax(30) higher 66 points in 30 minutes...

Thanks for all your inputs - highly appreciated

Eheh I see your point, but results of Bank of America can push the S&P500 higher, and the DAX just follows :-)
Have a great evening!
