has anyone here gone to the 40 hr private pilots license class ? and if so how was it and is the class enough to pass the written test or should i study before i go there? thanks...sharky
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
i dont fly myself but im always on private jets with my clients and i would love to get a private pilots license, ive looked at a school already and its 6500 dollars for the 40 hrs flight time ,fuel, and test but i heard some people need more time for the written test than others. so was just wondering if any one knew how hard the written exam was...sharky
hey sharky, I've been browsing the site and just noticed your post. I did this a few years back north of the border, and you definitely need to study. Unless you've had prior training in regs, weather, navigation, etc. there's alot of material to absorb. What I used to help supplement the ground school was test prep software similiar to this...
im not getting instrment ratings right now just the basic 40 hr single prop license will worry about the other things later thanks for the info...sharky
Sharky, just go take the course. It's just for private - I assume that ground school is part of the course. It takes a good while to fly 40 hours, so this must be fairly intensive, and you can't be ariborne all the time. You will have PLENTY of time to study for the written. Another idea, just ask the course contact person how you should prepare.

yes its a 4 week school and its the ground course and the written test so i think it will be ok i just didnt know if i should buy the book before i go and study or if it wasnt that hard...sharky
