I have been trading futures around 10 years now and still consider myself a newbie in this ever changing world. I develop and trade systems. Manual trading is just not for me. I just cant handle the downs, but I am happy about letting an algo I have developed to loose money of my behalf

I am now using machine learning to help develop with really promising results but time will tell

Hi everyone,

I am glad to stumble upon this forum. I have been searching for a forum where I can learn from other traders. It's been quite a journey for me in terms of trading. I started swing trading equities back in 2012 and lost quite a bit of money. Then I moved on to trading options because it didn't require much capital. I lost a lot of money because I didn't know what I was doing.

Then, I went back to trading equities but this time, day trading. Boy oh boy...what a ride. Again not knowing much about what I was doing resulting in big losses. I blew up my account so many time. Then, I got sick of trading and quit for a while. Thankfully, I work full time and so I was able to re-build my trading capital.

I was determined to find a mentor who knows what he/she is doing. I finally found one and learned from him for a few months. Now that I'm older and wiser, my main goal is first and foremost capital preservation. Second, of course make some profits. I am more patient and more selective in my trades. I feel OK even if I don't make a trade that day.

Anyway, I am sure I will be learning a lot from other more experienced traders here. I am looking forward to that.

Cheers,
coskinas

I have been trading futures for 40+ years; starting at 16 with some summer money I saved, then professionally to various bank desks including global head trader, then to hedge funds as an algo developer / execution desk, then to prop shops. I have traded everything from options, futures, equities, rates.

Happy to be here to share and learn.

Hi There

It would be great to chat with you.

I live near Toronto and chatting by phone would be great.

Hi Everyone,

Enjoying the site so far. I have some experience trading stocks/etfs, but I am new to futures trading. In the short term, I have one goal:

1) Don't lose all my money

According to what I've read, that's easier said than done and the odds are against me. I guess that's a long term goal too.

Good afternoon traders,

Just a quick note to say "hi" to the group. I'm relatively new to the craft (1+ year) and looking forward to learn and share with everybody here.
