I am a big fan of Evernote (evernote.com) as a 2nd brain. It is especially useful with the Clipper extension for Chrome which allows you to clip articles or web pages and then store them to read later on your computer or devices. It's free but it also has a monthly paid option as well.
AutoHotKey (autohotkey.com) is a very lightweight but powerful automation tool. You can remap keyboard strokes or mouse clicks to pretty much anything you want (Also great for playing practical jokes on unsuspecting users! :-). However it will require some programming ability.
Synergy (synergy-foss.org) is a fantastic utility when you have multiple computers but you want to use just 1 keyboard and one mouse for all of them. When you set it up and have it running, when you move your mouse to the edge of the screen, it automatically moves the mouse on to the screen of the other computer. Very handy and very responsive! I use this to have my chart on one computer and my DOM on another computer, but still just use 1 mouse and 1 keyboard.
Dexpot (dexpot.de) is virtual desktop software for Windows. This can be handy when you want to have separate workspaces on your computer such as your office desktop (Email, Word, etc), a programming workspace (Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc), a trading desktop (Charts, etc)... and you get the picture. Some people like this... others don't.
WinDirStat (windirstat.info) is a great utility to visualize your hard drive and find where the files are that are taking up the majority of space on your hard drive. A definite must when you need to free up some space.
