i think im doing something wrong here with NT $TICK chart with AMP/CQG data feed.. its not showing any +1000/-1000 hits, but on TOS it does.. here is my chart on NT and settings..
this might sound dumb, but the $TICK only works during mkt hours right? lol its been sooo long since ive looked at a $TICK chart..
here is my TOS chart showing a $TICK hit of +1000:
dont believe anything you hear and only half of what you see

NYSE Tick data is snapshot data, and not all data suppliers use the same interval for updating it. 1sec, 2 sec or 6 sec snapshots will get you different highs and lows.
There is a thread somewhere buried in this forum, where all this is explained and where the different data feeds were compared. I admit that I am unable to find that thread.
and for some reason it doesnt seem like my $TICK on AMP/CQG isnt updating live and i have to refresh all historical data to get it updated to current.. hmmm

Very much agree on the value of Tick with the ES - it is a superb tool.
One thing I've seen overlooked is the frequency of the TICK updates.
Given that TICK is based on the price changes in the particular universe (approx 3200 for nyse), no data …
I have noticed the same thing. One of the reasons why I switched to CGQ with AMP was because of the availability to get the TICK. Have you contacted the broker. It makes no sense that it does not update live.
