@Fat Tails is off for few days, so I'll reply for him .
You usually don't need to remove the previous version, the new one will replace the old one.
But if you really want to delete it, you have to find which indicators/strategies call it.
If you use Windows 7, open a File Explorer, and search for anaBollingerUniversal in all your .cs files (example below with searching for string "ana" in all .cs files):
Fat Tails asks the you remove the prior version first. It seems a little complicated to do so...is that necessary to do...remove first as Fat Tails suggests? DB
Exported using NT version 7.0.1000.27
This is a generalized version of the Bollinger Bands with a few options added:
- The midband can be selected from a moving median, a moving mode or 27 different moving averages.
- Midband and channels can …
above in the initial post is the result of trying to remove via Control Center> Tools > edit ninja script > indicator > anaBollingerUniversal > delete.
The directions Sam suggests seem a little more complicated. I would just like to discover the easiest way to update my version of the ana series indicators that I use. DB
hello,im not sure if you havent tried this, but its easy.Go to downloads, and that should list all of the ninja indicators you have imported.Delete the ones you want, then restart ninja. The indicator should be gone from your indicator list on your charts now.Hope this helps
Also, a couple or so of ana indicators are dll assemblies. To remove them inside ninja go to File>Utilities>Remove Ninja Assemblies. These files need to be removed before you can install a newer version.
@wldman: The message suggests that there is another indicator or strategy that accesses the anaBollingerUniversal. You need to remove the other file (indicator or strategy) first. I have not coded such indicators or strategies. The message is not related to the indicator itself.
In case that you do not know, which is the file that accesses the anaBollingerUniversal.cs I suggest the following
(1) Go to My Documents/NinjaTrader 7/bin/Custom/Indicator and select the file anaBollingerUniversal.cs and delete it.
(2) Edit any indicator with NinjaTrader and compile it. This should now produce some error messages. Delete all indicators and strategies that cause the errors until you get a clean compilation.
(3) If you cannot fix it, send me a private message and I will guide you through the process via Skype.
There are currently no ana-Indicators that are assemblies. The only assemblies that I have posted on this forum are the VisualSMA and VisualEMA. An old version of these was indeed namend anaVisualSMA and anaVisualEMA.
The VisualSMA and VisualEMA do not interfere with any ana-Indicators.
