Most of the time I'm alone by myself at home. Got tunes going the way I like them, can get in the trading groove. If my wife is home, will drop lot size. She leaves me alone, but it isn't the same. Have a nice place in the house. Fuzzy bunny slippers work better for my trading pnl......

A friend rented a place in town. Kept having the cops show up at the door. Kept explaining that trading wasn't a 9-5 job.

My problem is with the dog. Have a Golden Retriever who gets at least a mile run every morning. Every time I take her for a run, a market that I'd been watching will take off. This is the only sure thing in trading.

Bottom line is most of the time it's hindsight trading which is mostly completely worthless.

I used to always do this -- I would miss something, and come back and say "oh man, if I were here I would have made $1000 on that trade!" Of course, never mind the fact that a similar trade passed me by the past five days, and nevermind that I had never made $1000 on a trade, but conveniently, the one time I was going to be disciplined enough to take the entry, manage the trade perfectly, and get out at just the right time, I happened to not be there..

That was exactly what I meant.

After 3-4 hours of trading it gives me a chance to air out my head, and the dog gets to stretch her legs. I'm not in a trade or thinking about trading. Rejuvenated.

It was so consistent I used to send emails to friends when going out the door....

I have these issues with 3 kids (10,7,3), wife, dog.

But I love working from home and accept there will be compromises. Big step for me was not to blame anyone for interruptions nor their implications. There are plenty of opportunities in the markets I follow, I will always get some and miss others, and if I miss some because my three year wants to dance on my feet I happily miss that trade.

I have these issues with 5 'kids' (22, 23, 24, 25, 27) and their guitars and boyfriends, 3rd wife, but no dog.

I still miss more opportunities by screwing with charts and indicators and computers and taking boredom trades than I ever do by living it large with that lot. Just don't ever let them know. One of the idiots left the hot tap running all night so there were no showers this morning. Now that's a real issue.

When you have kids and a dog, you gotta have a basement! And I am definitely the king of my basement
