Is anyone else having issues installing the latest upgrade? It was an unusual upgrade as TDA was announcing to 'allow more time than usual' but when I try to install it I get the error "Problems updating JRE, Try again later"
And now I can't open any version. I tried downloading ToS from TDA website but I still get the same error when trying to install.
Anyone else in the same situation?
Thanks!
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
I didn't have any problems in downloading the upgrade, but it really took a much longer time.. such that you have time to do something else, and then come back to see later to see if the download has completed.
Btw, do make sure that you have the latest Java version installed as well. Hope this helps..
It updated alright on my Windows 8 computer, but on my Mac Laptop with Mavericks I got the "error while updating JRE, please try again". Found this thread doing a search: OS X update help!! - MacRumors Forums
This morning I can't log in on my windows computer, looks like they are working on this. Nothing left to do but wait now. Hopefully it gets solved by this afternoon.
Edit: I downloaded the program file from the old thinkorswim website and that worked for me. The files from the TD Ameritrade website stay stuck in the login window looking for updates. https://mediaserver.thinkorswim.com
I was running 10.6.8 on mac and this update prevented TOS from running on the system any longer. Had to download mavericks and update java, but both are free. Took almost 1.5 hours to install both so beware.
Everything seemed to have gone fine then when I came back into TOS it would not launch. I had to uninstall TOS and Java entirely from my Windows 8 machine and then re-install them both from scratch.
Unfortunately, the real problems will most likely go unnoticed by many traders until they've lost a chunk of capital. You see now half my scripts don't function correctly. It seems TOS messed up the count routines in their scripting language. Now when you go to count something, whether by method I wrote or using TOS's TotalSum function, it basically starts counting at a random number. I'm seeing it start with anywhere from 0 (as it should and used to) to 56. But mostly it's in the 1 to 5 range, which it just low enough to be tough to spot but enough to destroy a trade if you're relying on scripts.
Since monday I am fighting this problem. Old setup didin't work on my computer like others said. Even I change old and new files no, I request support but of course i,n US MLKing day and holday now there is time differences untill they turn back to job I will wait.
Whatever some guy found problem and solution my problem is this solution for MAC computers can anyone transfer to Windows system?
problem and solution here it is;

I looked at the update log and found the following error message,

As you can see, the update program couldn't find a specified file/directory.
I did run the following command in terminal and it fixed the issue.
Quote:
cp -r /Applications/thinkTDA/thinkorswim\ from\ TD\ AMERITRADE\ Uninstaller.app /Applications/thinkTDA/thinkorswim\ Uninstaller.app
The updated program runs fine now for me.
