Sometimes.. But I use it more on sites like ForexFactory where the indicators are uploaded to the thread in posts and sometimes the thread is long. Here, the indi's have their own section, so I use it less.
I had semi-forgotten it existed. I have used it only a couple of times.
One reason is that I didn't even realize that you can uncheck the "Include Images" box. That meant that, on threads like the free indicator thread, I didn't think I could use it to find an indicator without wading through all the chart images -- or so I thought up to this minute.
If the interface had been more clear, I probably would have used it a lot....
So, my vote kind of doesn't count, except to say that I would use it now.
Maybe if there were a full search box just for the individual threads, which could include file types (.zip, .cs etc.), or just include an attachment option, it would work better.
That needs to be overhauled. But I haven't even assigned it as a project yet to the developer because the entire search needs to be overhauled. And IPS is overhauling some of it themselves, 4.1 already is a massive improvement over 4.0. So there is some risk in being "too soon" because whatever work I do may break in a future update before we even go live, or be replaced or integrated into the default product.
There will be a very lengthy discussion on search soon.
Rarely used, but in threads that contain programs in development not listed in FIO's (oops almost said BMT) files download section, it is a great tool. For example this thread contains many versions of journals hard to find without the "List Attachments" tool.
I have used it when searching for indicators / strategies files. Its a extremely useful. However, for average thread with just pictures, I have only used it a handful of times since I have started posting here.
