Understanding the major participants in the FDAX

Hi both. I trade FDAX from years ago and I just have a vague idea about participants, this idea agrees with Joe T ("major trading is done by insto's and punters make up the rest."). I'm interested in accurate information about this. Let's see if someone really knows about it. How did you do it?
The order flow is so thin comparing to the ES, sometimes it´s hard to believe, that these are the only trades going on....

Personally I rely on the time & sales and the resting orders (DOM) to determine the orderflow for decision making. I glance at the chart just to see if I can identify trends.
