Webinar: FuturesTrader71 (FT71) Morad Askar on Getting Started Scalping
As you asked what some of our thoughts were I thought I would give a brief note:
I thought this was another fantastic webinar from FT71. It was particularly of interest to me as it is relative to my style. Although I would categorise myself as more of an 'aggressive daytrader' rather than scalper, there were many fundamental lessons to be learnt as well as points that resonated with what I already know or practice.
The things that were new to me and I had not considered before were:
- Having a standalone PC with no firewall for trading
- The 'Regressive Sizing for Risk'
- The 'Managing Risk with Size' idea
The first is a good idea and highlights one of the ways each of us needs to think in order to gain an edge on our competitors. The final two were eye-opening especially in terms of the way FT71 managed those trades. The final one he took (4th) was just insane to me, his management was very good and it became clear why he is successful. I tend to be either in or out, I don't scale my positions but this certainly gave me something to consider for the future.
Like CobblersAwls wrote a fantastic webinar. Really liked the strategy analyser tool. Too bad such a tool is not available for the rest of us. The webinar gave me some new soft material to think about. Thanks for that Incredible Mike.
Maybe you could convince them to offer the tool as a commercial product. I like the tool and wish more platforms would offer tracking "theoretical average" (FT71 speak) which is really just a flat-to-flat average. Sierra does this built-in.
For future webinars, what do you guys want more? A formal presentation or another live market scalping demonstration, with the caveat of it being market replay due to the webinar time of day and compressed time nature?
Many thanks to @FuturesTrader71 presenting this webinar. Looking down to the single trade stats is my way to go too and i could confirm many of my own thoughts.
