I asked IB if this was possible and they said no, but it just doesn't seem like the right answer.
Has anyone found a way to have multiple concurrent logins to the same IB username/account? In my particular case I want to have both mobileTWS for Android running while also having IB Gateway (TWS) running on my workstation, on the same account.
Right now I am asked to log out because it's only supporting 1 concurrent login. This causes a lot of problems in Sierra Chart when it is logged out and doesn't see a fill, logging it as an external fill and screwing up statistics.
No you can the advice was wrong obviously i got different advise or maybe i dont have exactly what you want to do.
I have 1 account in total (in fact you can split 1 account to 2 also). (i considered this to split equities and futures).
I have 2 users to this account.
1 User runs automated.
1 User is manual.
Both access same account and can see trades etc from running ones.
For instance i can logon to webtrader and still have the automated trader account running no disconnects etc.
You need to do this through account management and add a new user first then config this user etc to have required access.

Does the second user have to pay a second set of subscription fees? Maybe that is where I got hungup last time I looked at this, because for instance I am not sure it is worth a whole set of fees to be able to use mobileTWS on my phone.
OK, they must have changed the interface since I last looked because this time I went straight to it, saw the "2nd user" option, and there are no mention of additional fees.
No you dont just use delayed data which is free as far as i recall that is configurable within the user accounts.
Deeper data im unsure but i do notice they have recently added the book in mobiletws to some instruments.
I also use the mobile app but pretty much for monitoring trades when out and about etc etc and to close when i need to or sometimes to leg out of a trade if im not at my home desk.
OK, I'll find out tomorrow. Everything submitted, waiting on them. If it's delayed data it would remove the usefulness of mobileTWS somewhat, so hopefully that isn't the case.
I don't think it is I think I have delayed just for non subscribed shares indices. I have a few hard to get data on shares as in non standard German small caps. (Don't ask!)

OK so by default it is delayed. But I was able to add CME futures for $1.25 a month for L1, which is good enough for mobileTWS trading.
I confirmed I can be logged in now on Sierra (workstation, user 1) and mobileTWS (Android, user 2) concurrently. If I place an order on one, it shows on the other. However, on Sierra's side I have to click "refresh trade data" to pick up changes made by mobileTWS.
I'll have to wait until more testing next week to find out if this will solve the problem with fills and Sierra reporting.
