Thx for replying. I tried a few methods years ago but this method suits me and in 2012 while people losing money i tripled my account in 3 months. After that it was so so but i was profiting from this simple method every month. But now i understand this injected me false confidence and loosen my discipline. I remember a few times i did the same mistake last year but losses were not that important.
This is probably one of the best posts I have seen here on futures.io (formerly BMT). (rahulgopi)- You understand the core is not about discipline it is about knowing yourself.
It was a mistake - It was human and an accident. If you had an automobile accident - in the
hospital you would focus on your healing. IMHO - This is no different.
I am uploading an excellent audio- Sit back and listen to it a couple of times.
He offers this as free on his website- He has a program that costs $200 to address the beliefs created as a child
that the rahulgopi refers to.
It is excellent. It will not get the core but its a great start.
I have a special audio play when my stop is filled
that says. " Trade your method- DONT GIVE A HOOT- TAKE YOUR LOSSES AND MOVE ON"
Wherever she is in the house she seems to hear it and shows up within moments. LOL
I have a joint account with my wife. She gets an email of the daily results. That is a good psychological control.
I generally tell her of the losses and sometimes leave the bigger gains as a surprise.
Thirty years ago I got a margin call on a gold contract (small account). I should not have been trading Gold with that size account It was 5:00 in morning. They asked how I would cover and I said I would wire more money. WRONG. Five minutes later when I was more awake I call back and closed the trade.
The problem with trading is one needs to be right twice!
At the very least, you are arriving at the right conclusions which is to lower your leverage.
Many would continue trading the same way they did, and would not change one variable after they recover psychologically. After a decade of trading you are about to change habits, and that is impressive.
All traders err, it's a question of time, but add over-leverage to that and your errors just magnified beyond your wildest expectations.
I wish you well.
Matt
