My day trading journal using The Intentional Trader rules
A little history, I began trading in about 1994, when we used paper charts mailed to you! I have never been what I felt was a "successful" trader, I would win a little and lose a lot. I have tried options trading, position trading, swing trading and now have settled on day trading. The reason I like day trading is because I can get in and out very quickly and not have my money exposed to the markets for very long. The less time I'm a trade, the more I like it! I am currently trading the CL, FDAX, TF, YM, NQ and (rarely) ES.
I joined The Intentional Trader in March 2014, I purchased their full indicator package, trading room access and the "VIP" membership. I am not affiliated with them in any way except for being a customer. I began by SIM trading their setup's using the indicators that I purchased from them. Once I developed confidence with the setups, I started trading "live" with real money on January 12th 2015.
The reason I am starting this journal is to keep an electronic record of the trades that I take and to make myself accountable for those trades, I now believe accountability is very important to consistent, successful trading. I will be posting screenshots along with my daily and monthly results and a brief explanation of each trade. My results will probably not be typical of others in the IT trading room since I currently have to trade while at work, there are many distractions and trades I miss because of this. These results are my personal trades, trading "live" with real money. I will post all trades, winners, losers, etc.
Since you are journaling about a vendor, I want to let everyone know this thread is not appropriate to discuss the vendor's performance, pricing, product, services, etc in this thread.
FDAX: Short, INVALID Speed/Flash, it was an invalid setup due to the open of the bar being more than 5 ticks away from the HOD (green dash line). Costly mistake, lesson learned!
