I am blocked on several threads because a certain individual does not like me and I returned the favour to him. I have also blocked one individual who did not listen when I said he was taking MY journal in directions that I did not want to go and he continued to do so.
I believe the use of "ignore" is essential to a forum website. Otherwise objectionable behavior towards a person would drive them away from the site.
You are not blocked from any thread from a viewing POV but only from posting on that thread...you did something or said something that the originator of that thread did not like... and as a consequence are banned from contributing to ANY thread started by that individual.... I think that is fair frankly. Perhaps at some time the person may relent and remove you from that list... I have done that in one case when a person who said something objectionable to me became more civil over time.
You can start a similar thread of your own.... that has a precedent in the past in OFF-TOPICS when an individual had a environmental thread but banned any that had a different point of view... a new thread was created to express that opposite or even agreeing sentiment.... those threads seem to be dead now with time
If Big Mike tells you to add the comment to the existing thread... explain why you cannot do so but you want to discuss the issue....I don't think he would kill your thread... but then it is his call
I have an almost impossible time understanding you.
Why don't you get specific about what "general interest thread" you are talking about.
And as has already been pointed out to you, you can read all the threads -- you simply can't reply to a thread if you've pissed off that person enough for them to have blocked you. I blocked you after I finally was tired of your posts. If you were blocked in the SP500 thread, it was by tigertrader and not me. I don't know if that is the thread you are talking about or not.
At any rate, I would suggest that instead of complaining about being blocked, you instead take it as a hint to stop your behavior.
