I'm going to bring this instrument (CL) online, too, since FDAX isn't actively traded with the BruteForce strategy. The bones and algorithms of this strategy are similar to others in the BruteForce family. The goal is to acquire above average capital returns within a manageable risk profile. Statistics like Sharpe, Profit Factor, and Win/Loss percentages get little attention if Total Net Profit, Max Draw down and Equity Curve are pleasing to the eyes.
Here is the trailing three months backtest and equity curve trading one contract. I hope to post today's trades and chart later today.
Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
You must be reading my mind, BM. I just made the change in the instrument manager.
There are parameter provisions for max profit/loss, long/short only and net win trades but not the number of trades per day. At this point, none of those parameters are utilized because they haven't been backtested.
The profit targets, stops, and trail triggers are currently static as follows: profit target--225 ticks; stop--20 ticks; and trail stop trigger--100 ticks.
A scalper strategy using BruteForce logic is in development.
Although it's nice to catch an occasional 200 point winner in a position trade, there is also something to be said for more recurring and hopefully consistent income without spending too much time in the market. The thought is to trade from 8:00 am ET to 12:00 pm ET with a daily goal in either dollars or net wins and losses limited to the dollar win goal.
Recent price action suggests a sweet spot with 15 Range bars with a 20 tick profit and stop. This morning was exceptional (4 winners, 0 losers) but I don't expect these results to be the norm. Nice eye candy though.
