@wontonsoup below the graph of Soybean OI using IQFeed in MultiCharts.

Unfortunately the data does not match the CFTC weekly data because IQFeed shows the OI of the Front month contract only (as Barchart and other data feeds) and not of all Soybean contracts (as the CFTC publishes weekly) producing those valleys in the graph when approaching expiration.

The below data is from 5/12/15. CFTC reports 693,980 Open positions for all soybean contracts while IQFeed reports the same day 368,280 for the front month contract.

Failed to mention, the daily OI data presented for the front month only it is of no use to make trading decisions.

Just trying to give some closure to this thread, here's the answer from IQFeed:

Unfortunately we don’t have to total commodity OI in IQFeed yet (just the individual contracts OI). It’s going to take a little development to make it available and likely would be a few months.

We do have it available in ProphetX if you would have interest in looking at that platform.

As it's been a while I thought I'd check it to see if there have been any further developments on the vendors side that folks have discovered when monitoring open interest, either intraday or EOD?
Whether that is a premium feed that you pay for or another 3rd party website that you connect to I'd be pleased to hear about it.

What could also be incorporated into market prepping is the PCR and how that interplays with OI. Anyone use these two data points in their prep/strategy?

I'm assuming NT still doesn't have the capability to map OI and can only do COT which for me as an intraday trader is useful when assessing the beginning of the week, however much changes as the week goes on. So EOD would be the next best alternative.

Cheers

Z
