2 scalps. Each time I missed the larger move. I had exit signal very early on the RB and my rule is too take them. I only discard them if I have 20+ ticks in potential profit and in that case I take the exit on the CVB.
It is not my day...
Trade 2 : +13 ticks
Trade 3: +15 ticks
(the exit on the CVB was 20 ticks lower for trade 3 at 29.60. The temptation here is to change the rule or to optimize some parameters. But it is definitely not the thing to do !)

Can you help answer these questions from other members on NexusFi?
definitely not good results compared to the market (+149 ticks when I write this). My system is not very performing in this kind of markets. We are chasing supports and resistances.
At 29.95 I was betting that if we break it we will have a nice move. At 30.30 I was making the same bet. But those are bets and not trades (at least for my system). I do not have stellar results but I'm proud to have very consistent ones because I never take bets.
Certainly a very good day for swing traders.

1 - first I also compare my results to a benchmark and the benchmark is the market. When 1 write this the market is up +150 ticks so 33 is not good. If I had made 33 and if the market was up or down 20 I would have consider that very good.
2 - second I also compare my win vs the risks I have taken. My stop loss is at 10 ticks so in 3 trades I have taken a potential risk of lose of 30 ticks and I have made 33 ticks. It a risk reward of 1.
3 - for 2 of my 3 trades the potential have been much higher but I have not hold the position. Yesterday I have made just 1 trade but I have played it perfectly and I was very happy of it. It was not the case today.
I also want to add something. Don't believe that I've been good overnight. I've never been a prop trader but I've been an option market maker for 9 years. And even if I've never been a top star in that job I have been a more than decent one. I've also spent months on that system before I started to trade it for real and before I started to have what I consider decent results. So there is a little experience and a lot of work behind that

At the very beginning of my system I was very excited but I was not ready. I took a real trade during the night when the market is so sloooooow. I quickly realized that I was wrong. Hundreds of bells were ringing in my head saying exit this f... trade, take your lose and exit. But I didn't want to hear that. So I watch my trade go slowly to my stop loss. The agony last maybe 5 min but I remember it as an eternity. I was frozen. After that I was full of anger against the market so I started scanning different instruments in order to took a "vengeance" trade. I took it and I was lucky (beginner luck). But after I took a deep breath, I went to bed and I promised to myself that I will never do that again.
The market has always a lesson to teach you about yourself. If you listen, you could be not too bad one day.

So you are excited about your system, yes? Sucks when you try to implement it live, yes? Welcome to trading. Make it work live before giving folks ideas and hopes.
It is funny...If you look at all the people trying to trade, ALL over the world, trading a single instrument with one contract everyday...Like CL for example...you wonder why at the end of a typical day CL has only ~300K volume. It is because nobody does it LIVE, with real money.
No system in the world will work live unless you can trade it mechanically with your own money live. No ifs ands or buts. Sim is great for set-ups, but not for follow-through.
In total agreement with you, Okina. Hoopy, what are you talking about? For one thing, over 600,000 CL contracts traded today on the March and April contracts. It's hard to draw a conclusion about live/sim trading based on those numbers, especially since retail traders like us are a minimal part of the CL trade.
Maybe there's something we don't understand about your comment, perhaps?
I mean no disrespect, but it's hard to make sense of what you said. Your comment is also unnecessarily dismissive of the work and trading that Okina is doing here. He's made his thread, his thought process, his charts available to everyone. I applaud that.

Well, it's time to step into the light. I've lurked around BMT and futures.io for a couple of years now, wandering through the journals of others, sampling indicators, hearing stories of gains and losses and feeling quite at home. I came here …
I don't resit the temptation to answer to your post, I hope you will indulge my weakness.
@Big Mike and @sam028 has succeeded in creating a forum that is at the same time respectful, not polluted by vendors of miracles, and also professional. It means that if we see someone that is on verge of doing something stupid (in terms of trading) no one will hesitate to say it. But in a constructive manner. But on the other hand no one is here to say: "I've got the biggest one...". For that I have several other forum names that I have discovered with my 17 years son.
In terms of "big one" I have a big one. I'm not in the category of being a potential interview for the next Market Wizards but I'm just below that one. But on the other hands I've learned with humility a lot of things from the people of this forum. Even if when I was a pro 15 years ago I used to neglect and undermine them. And I know for sure that there are "bigger one" than me here and even if they don't have the same professional records than me they have made by themselves much more difficult things that I've made because I was just lucky to be at right time at the right place with the right people. And I greatly respect them for that.
There are only 2 things that I refuse to provide. I won't go into escalation to provide proof of trading because I'm not selling anything. So I don't owe proofs since I have no clients. And I won't give all the detail of my system because it is mine and because I'm not selling anything. And I'm always happy to share and to explain, to receive questions especially if they are challenging because they help me to improve my trades.
But on the other hand the spirit in which I post here is because I take so I want to give. I take a lot of ideas from other successes and failures and constructive/challenging comments, and I give for the same reason. Maybe some could take some ideas from my trades.
I'm not the moderator of this forum and I hope I have understand its spirit.
Good Trading.
Okina Tora.
